La Facoltà di Sociologia dell’Università di Trento ha emanato quattro bandi per la valutazione comparativa di 4 posti per ricercatore a tempo determinato nei seguenti settori concorsuali:
- 11/A5 (scienze demoetnoantropologiche),
- 14/C1 (sociologia generale, giuridica e politica),
- 14/C2 (sociologia dei processi culturali comunicativi),
- 14/D1 (sociologia dei processi economici, del lavoro e del territorio)
La scadenza dei bandi è fissata per lunedì 19 marzo 2012.

The European Sociological Association’s Research Network on Political Sociology (RN32) is pleased to announce its second mid-term conference, to be held at the University of Milan (Italy), 30 November and 1 December, 2012.
The European Commissioner for Research, Innovation and Science has replied to the initiative Open Letter on SSH research in the new FP, 2014-2020.

Postdoctoral Researcher in the Organizational Networks of Megachurches
The Max Weber Institute of Sociology at Heidelberg University, Germany, invites applications for a full-time
postdoctoral research position. The position is part of a project funded by the German Research Foundation
(DFG) entitled “Why are megachurches attractive? Cultural reproduction and network structures of a new
organizational form in the U.S.” The appointment begins on April 1, 2012, or sooner. The position is limited
to a 2.5-year term with the possibility of extension subject to funding renewal. The successful candidate is
expected to assume project leadership and will spend several months in the US to collect data on-site. The
salary is competitive and based on the TVöD EG 14 pay scale for public institutions. The position offers a
range of opportunities for advanced academic training.
Candidates must have a great capacity for team work and should be enthusiastic about the opportunity to
implement a collaborative research project. Specific requirements include:
- Successful completion of a PhD in the social sciences.
- Experience in scientific project management.
- Expertise in organization science and social network analysis. Familiarity with the sociology of
religion would be advantageous.
- Competence in social scientific research methods, especially in the areas of social network analysis
and survey design.
- Excellent command of the English language in both writing and speaking. Experience living and/or
working abroad is very much desired. Proficiency in an additional language would be beneficial.
Germany language proficiency is optional.
