Andrea Pogliano
Andrea Pogliano, Ph.D., is Lecturer in Sociology of Media and Communication at the University of Eastern Piedmont, Italy. His main interests lie in the sociology of media, journalism and photojournalism: media and immigration, media and war, and visual framing processes. Recent works include: “Iconic Photographs in the Newsrooms: An Ethnography of Visual News-making in Italy and France” [Sociologica 1, 2015]; “Evaluating News Photographs: Trust, Impact and Consumer Culture in the Digital Age” [Journalism Practice 9(4), 2015]; and “News Media and Immigration in the EU: Where and How Does the Local Dimension Matter" in Changing Neighbourhoods: Inter-group Relations and Migrant Integration in European Cities, edited by F. Pastore and I. Ponzo [Dordrecht: Springer, 2016].
