Rossella Ghigi
Rossella Ghigi is an Associate Professor in Sociology at the University of Bologna. Her research interests range from the sociology of beauty to gender socialization and education. She’s the author of a number of essays on aesthetic surgery [Per Piacere. Storia culturale della chirurgia estetica, Il Mulino, 2008], gendered social dynamics during adolescence [Adolescenti e differenze di genere (ed), Carocci, 2012], as well as articles on the medicalization of ugliness, the social construction of femininity and masculinity, and feminist theory.
